Emily grew up in a suburb of Cleveland, Ohio, and attended Indiana University where she earned a BA in communications and psychology and minored in Spanish. She earned a Master of Arts in counseling psychology at the University of Denver. Emily served as a high school guidance counselor for ten years in Denver and at Aspen High School. She specialized in academic, post-secondary, social, and emotional counseling. For the past five years, she has worked as a Licensed Professional Counselor with adolescents, families, and adults. Emily serves on the Aspen Education Foundation Board of Directors and Wildwood School Board of Directors. Emily lives in Snowmass Village with her husband and three children.
