A graduate of Harvard University and the University of Chicago, Marco has been helping high school students to find the colleges best suited to their skills, talents, interests, and resources since 1992. Before founding Boulder-Denver College Consultants, Marco served as an alumni interviewer for Harvard University. He also worked as the College and Careers Counselor at Accelerated Schools' Denver campus and taught SAT/ACT test prep and college application essay writing for Boulder Valley School District for over a decade.

Marco is sensitive to the varying needs of students with all levels of ability, especially those who have trouble with standardized tests. He approaches the college search process by first guiding the Student through a career-exploration process. Marco then assembles a "starter" college list of ten to twelve target schools that match the Student's budget and academic and lifestyle preferences, with strong programs in the most relevant career fields. Working closely with the Student to deepen that college research, Marco teaches fast, low-stress, search techniques that produce in-depth results. Expert guidance and help--delivered with a sense of humor and compassion--are provided at every step of the process, from admissions essay coaching to financial aid advice.

And Marco offers one thing that few other consultants do: every student gets a personal, guided tour of one college campus in Colorado. During your tour, you’ll sit in on a college class in a subject area of your own choice, and afterwards you’ll chat with current students, over lunch or coffee, about their own first-hand impressions of the school. Marco will also accompany you on the college’s “official” tour, pointing out some of the things that student tour guides may not want to mention. You come away with a more objective picture of the college than you might otherwise get, and, more importantly, you learn how to prepare for the tours you’ll take on your own when you visit other colleges.
