My name is Emily Farrell, and I am an Independent College Consultant based in Snowmass Village, Colorado. My passion is working with young adults from all over the country, and I am honored to help my clients with their post-secondary journey and achieve their dreams.I strive to listen carefully to each client and create a tailored plan, including high school academic mapping, resume and activity building, college tour planning, meaningful community service, summer enrichment opportunities, and standardized test coordination as needed. We work together to create an ideal list of aspirational and attainable colleges. I embody a caring, reasonable, and realistic approach focusing on accountability. My goal is to help each student and their way by having age-appropriate interactive conversations that fully engage and prepare each student for the complete college application experience. One cannot underestimate the power and value of an outside, unbiased adult in connecting with and encouraging a young person to fully see all they have to offer to the many colleges that could be in their future with proper preparation.       

I grew up in a suburb of Cleveland, Ohio, and attended Indiana University where I earned a Bachelor of Arts in communications and psychology and a minor in Spanish. I received a Master of Arts in counseling psychology at the University of Denver. For ten years, I was a high school guidance counselor in Denver and at Aspen High School where I specialized in academic, post-secondary, social, and emotional counseling. In addition, I have worked as a Licensed Professional Counselor with adolescents, families, and adults. This is my fifth year working as an Independent Education Consultant. I serve on many local committees and organizations and enjoy spending time with my husband and three children, family and friends, skiing, and mountain biking.
